SBWC less than a month away

Hard to believe it is May already. As SBWC has refined their schedule, things have adjusted a little. I will still be sitting in with Marla Miller's afternoon workshop, but my day has been bumped to Thursday.

Wednesday afternoon, I'll be part of a panel of publishers discussing the spectrum of options available to authors today. Demystifying Publishing Options will be from 1-3:30p. The following morning from 9-11:30a the same panel will be doing Publishing Options - A Deep Dive. And Friday, I'll be on the Author's Platform Panel, discussing the marketing side of being an indy author/publisher.

I will still be doing fifteen-minute Q&A sessions in the main room during the week. If you want some time to do a little one-on-one brain-picking, come by and check the schedule.

The conference itself still has seats available - both for the full week and single-day registration. You can find out more at SBWriters.com. I have said this before, you will not find a more generous and talented collection of folks than this group. Everyone is dedicated to helping folks improve their craft and find a path to getting their story out there.

So, Rick, How's that next novel coming? part duex...

As I teased above, I am painfully close to being done. Oaths & Odysseys will be around 85k words and will see Dave Sharp and his growing community of survivors save a mysterious ally, resolve questions about what remains of the old world governments, and dig deeper into the mystery of their immunity to this space-born pathogen.

Last month I teased a cover reveal. I try to keep my word. Below is the current cover mockup of Oaths & Odysseys: Book 2 in the Genesis Renewed Saga. I'm working hard to have it up and available in Amazon before the start of SBWC.

Finally a little bit about the business of...

My experiment with Bookfunnel and their join-a-promo opportunities tripled my subscriber base for this newsletter. One hundred and thirty-two folks clicked on my short story ad on the site, and ninety downloaded the story. I think I will join another promo later in the year.

For those who joined through the promo, I hope you enjoyed #IceteroidSurvivors. Please let me know what you think—good, bad, or indifferent. It will be the starting kernel for the next novel in the Genesis Renewed series, which I'm targeting for release in October 2024.
